It’s a wrap!

The 12th Annual Signature Chefs Food Festival made up for last year and brought 5 firehouse chefs to the kitchen alliance for a tasty lineup. You had to be there! We Mahalo all our chefs, restaurants, sponsors, donors and loyal guests for their continued support through the years.

Firefighters are known to be resourceful and creative chefs, often preparing dishes and recipes they grew up with to share at the firehouse.  The Signature Chefs Food Festival was born out of the concept that firefighters must feed its on-duty crew in station for their 24-hour shift. There are 43 fire stations. Designated chefs for the day have a meager budget for three meals, requiring they shop smart for ingredients while preparing meals that are nutritious and can sustain them through a strenuous shift. Firefighters also have a reputation of being excellent chefs. The Signature Chefs Food Festival provided a stage to showcase their talent alongside the best that the culinary scene has to offer.

Our event was postponed in 2023, soon after the devastation to Lahaina, Maui was realized. The Honolulu Firefighters Foundation immediately chose to pause planning efforts to allow for donations to flow to those impacted by the Maui wildfires. What occurred in a few weeks with Chefs for Hope Kako’o Maui was an amazing feat among the restaurant and culinary industry. Led by Chef Chai, an army of chefs, sponsors and Pacific Rim Concepts banded together to fundraise for the Salvation Army and Hawaiian Way Fund (CNHA) to provide assistance for those in need.

We Mahalo our loyal supporters for your continued support through the years. It was truly good to be back and look forward to next year!
